Desert Island Competition

We've had a lot of fun, and the four free game giveaways are all done now. There's just one very important question left in this joint Playfire & Green Man Gaming event:

What game you would play if you were trapped on a desert island and could only play one game for the rest of your life?

After the competition time ends we'll be choosing FIVE winners who will each receive up to £100 of games this week, via either Microsoft Points, Playstation Network Points, or Green Man Gaming credit, depending on your choice.

We've already received a lot of entries with some really great choices, though I'm not sure how well any MMO / Multiplayer games would work on a desert island. Who knows if you'd even have the Internet? We're probably assuming you've at least got some kind of hydro-powered setup going on though, cause you've been stranded for a while, so electricity is there.

Just make sure to get your entry in before 1159 GMT February 15th!

  1. I'd enter but I'm really not fond of facebook apps that want to get access to my info, like email. You could have had entries as comments here, like this, or as replies to a facebook wall post. It makes me suspicious when suddenly it's an app. Coming so soon after the suspicious give away to get everyone to sign up for playfire and link their accounts, you aren't in my "non-suspicious" book at the moment.

  2. graspee, this site is far from suspicious, and as for accepting replying to FB apps, man you need to educate yourself so your not so paranoid.. Knowledge is power my friend.. and if your still that timid create and alter ego with your gamer tag and use that for a Fb profile.. worked for me :)

  3. Agreed. Not entirely comfortable signing up for an app that posts statuses for me.

In the spirit of the promotion though, I'd say a set of the D&D rulebooks. Play a game WITH the wizard if we're going to be stuck somewhere for ages.

  4. Sid Meier's Civilization V as it would give me endless hours of fun, which I would have and infinite amount thanks to being stranded.

  6. cant submit my answer on facebook as it just sits there and looks at me. Here is my answer.

There can be only one choice and that's football manager 2013. Its kept me entertained for 312 glorious hours so far so I don't see my stay on this desert island being anything but a glorious vacation. Why Football Manager you may ask, well its quite simple really. It has an awesome extensive player database, each new game is different as there are a variety of teams and a variety of scenarios you can choose from. If i'm lucky i'll win the world cup and win all the titles and accolades or I could fall and crash and burn it all. Either way I look forward to finding out!

  7. Fallout 3. I spent over 100 hours completing every square inch of that game the first time. and then almost another hundred hour when they decided to add trophies. I fell in love with that game. the sceenery, the music, the action, drama, comedy you name it that game has it all. And its very long AND you can chose many different ways to play it. and theres dlc. all they have to do is keep on adding dlc and i would just stay in the world of fallout. "God" just talking about it right now makes me wish there was another sequel comming.
